Mississippi, lush and green, with its Magnolias, Pecan and Pine Trees is home to three of the top 100 public golf courses in the United States according to GolfDigest, with 8 of the top 10 in the state open to the public. This southern state may not be at the top of your list, but maybe it should be. Stop by Walnut Hills for a charming and tasty dining experience. If you are looking for a Southern meal, head over to Parlor Market in Jackson where tradition meets the contemporary. While you wind you way through the narrow back roads lined with moss draped trees, take time to visit some of the Main Streets of towns like Vicksburg, Tupelo, Water Valley and Woodville. These sleepy communities have incorporated arts, antiques, local fare and upscale shopping into a stroll to remember.
